Crash Course in Finding a Lost Cat

June 5, 2017 by Helper of Lost Cats

This “Crash Course” was created by the Community Cat Coalition to provide a brief overview of the steps needed to recover your lost cat. When your cat is lost, nothing is more precious than time. Print and use this guide to find your cat, and be sure to avoid the three biggest mistakes people make when their cat is lost:

  1. Waiting a few days to being the search in the hopes that the cat will just come home.
  2. Focusing on just one or two recovery methods.
  3. Giving up. The reality is cats usually take much longer to recover than dogs. Cats are survivors and masters of concealment. Keep searching! Cats are often found many months after they are lost, but only if their owner is still looking.
